Currently, if the name of a column or something else is changed in a cross table (a very common requirement as we usually don't want the names of our columns being the name of the calculated value/column in the cross table) Spotfire reverts the value formatting to the default.
For example, if you have a calculated value of "Kilograms" and you set the value formatting to show thousand separator and round to 1 decimal place, this will be forgotten as soon as something changes in the cross table which can be tedious to go back and fix. Alternatively, an "apply formatting to all" button could be added so that all values in the table match that formatting.
the "Excel" equivalent to the current state would be having all the decimals of the previous value you just added in a Pivot table come back as soon as a new column was added, even if you had just changed the formatting.
This is also one of those things that causes you annoyance every single time, but you forget until the next time you have to do it. This time I made myself write it down! Anyone that has made a cross table in spotfire has dealt with this
yes it could definitely be merged, I didn't see that one. I have voted for it
Can be merged with TS-I-6670 I think?
