Pop-up notifications are a nuisance most of the time - i.e. when an analysis is being consumed. They interrupt analysis workflow and cause lots of unnecessary support cases to the author of the analysis. Most of the time, they can be safely ignored. I propose changing Spotfire's default to NOT show popup notifications. Even better would be to have a preference where they can be enabled or disabled by default per user group.
Implemented in | 11.1 |
Starting with Spotfire 11.1, a new application preference is now available to configure the default value of the "show popup notifications" check box. You can learn more about this in the What's New in Spotfire 11.1 page here: https://community.tibco.com/wiki/whats-new-tibco-spotfirer-111#toc-10
That's great. Thanks for letting us know Arnaud.

Thanks Andrew. This is a real pain point for OEM workflows, for the reasons you've cited. Indeed, defaulting to NOT show popup with an ability to enable / disable by group would be very useful and much appreciated.
