The way that the Spotfire insert columns mechanism is built is it builds a list of columns to ignore, rather than a list of columns to insert. For example, let's say you have Table A with column A, B, and C. You insert column A into Table B. Then, someone updates Table A, which can be something as trivial as adding a calculated column to Table A. That calculated column gets inserted into Table B. This results in incredibly messy and unorganized tables. Tables become larger than necessary, and I have no idea whether a column is in a table because I put it there or Spotfire put it there, so I dont know I can remove. The default behavior needs to be changed.
Thanks Julie, let us look into this. Please feel free to send me an email as well. We could also schedule a quick call. Thanks, Thomas
