Geological data is normally presented against depth in the Y-axis. Being only able to plot multiple criteria on on the Y-Axis means your depth ends up horizontal not vertical.

Vertical line chart is now available as a visualization mod for Spotfire from the TIBCO Community Exchange: https://community.tibco.com/modules/vertical-line-chart-mod-tibco-spotfirer
To use the vertical line chart mod, Spotfire 11.0 or later is required.

There is a way to render vertically oriented data using a scatter plot ass described in this TIBCO Community article: https://community.tibco.com/wiki/vertical-line-charts
There is also a vertical line chart mod now available from the TIBCO Community Exchange: https://community.tibco.com/modules/vertical-line-chart-mod-tibco-spotfirer
You will need Spotfire 11.0 or later to use this mod.
