Hello
If we create a direct query with ODBC netezza, we are really poor on function (Calculated colomns or Personnalized expression).
Why can't we use SQL ANSI function working on Netezza ?
Example : CURRENT_DATE is not working. A user can't create calculation he need like "Age".
Most of our user are on Business Author, and we don't learn them to do their own direct query. But some know how to do easy SQL Select.
Thanks
Hi Virginie and thank you for your idea! We have recently mapped more Netezza functions and the complete Spotfire 11.0 list is available here. The example with CURRENT_DATE is tricky as we don't have support for nondeterministic functions in Spotfire as of today. Let me consider this enhancement as well. If you have examples of additional deterministic functions you would like to see mapped please let me know and we'll review them.
Note that in Spotfire Analyst you are able to create custom queries with unmapped Netezza functions.
Unfortunately Spotfire doesn't support custom expressions written in ANSI SQL. This could be somewhat of a security risk and a significant development package. Maybe this video could help your Spotfire users getting started with custom expressions?
Please feel free to reach out to me on tblomber@tibco.com if you would like to discuss this furtther!
