Categoric custom color scheme import needs improvement - I need to choose the colors. And More.

I have needed this feature for the last 10 years.

When I import a set of colors that I have saved to library, there is no way to choose how the colors are mapped onto categoric values. Spotfire just takes them in order and it's always the same. There is no way to choose among the colors saved. If there are fewer values than colors, again I have no way to choose the color mapping.

The color features definitely need some improvement, in more flexibility for color saving and mapping. across visualizations.

There is no way to know what color scheme is loaded and applied to a column - not even a name. There is no way to hide a color scheme from the color search dialog - so all my development versions are included in the search results when they should not be included.

I should just be able to add my own schemes to the picker.

These two ideas are somewhat similar, and equally confounding:

I need to be able to create some colors and easily apply them to multiple visualizations, and before I save the final color scheme to the library.

I need to have a choice as to how the imported colors are mapped onto categoric values.

Spotfire should supply a set of "colorblind-friendly" schemes, like Tableau does.

I can go on....

JP
