Spotfire web client has an option to detect idle time and logout ...

We are looking for a similar API for Spotfire professional client (Analyst).

We want to configure idle time for the thick client so that if the client has been idle for certain amount of time, we want to shut it down.

So the request is to have an API that detects the "idle" state of Spotfire. By idle I mean that Spotfire is doing nothing ... and it is safe to shut it down.
