When you add a filter, drop down, etc. into a text area for a report it shows up as something like <SpotfireControl id="909008u8ssahhjhkjashj" />. For this to work you should be able to copy the above to another text area and have the same object with the same functionality (this means if you need to make changes to a common control it would affect all of them)
