copy spotfire controls from edit HTML from text areas

I know that you can copy controls when editing text areas but that messes up the html formatting. The work around is cumbersome because I have to copy the html to a notepad, copy the controls over and then paste back from notepad so I can keep the formatting. Another way is to duplicate the text area and copy the controls over.
