Yes, yes and yes! I even remember that the help documentation on expression functions (at least at one point) said that the expression functions you wrote would save to one's user settings so that once you entered it, you would be able to use it again. But they don't work that way. You have to register them in each new dxp you create. There definitely needs to be some kind of way of re-using them, or saving them in the library or something.
