Summary information in Chart Visualizations

In Spotfire charts, lines and curves can be displayed with their respective annotations. However, it would be beneficial to include an option for plotting a summary box that provides key statistical information, similar to the options available in the lines and curves menu.

For example, in a bar chart or histogram, the summary box could display metrics such as mean, standard deviation, count, minimum, maximum, etc.

Using lines or curves for this purpose is not always ideal, particularly when the data involves vastly different scales. This can clutter the plot, especially when one variable has low values while another, like count, is significantly higher.

A summary box could also include additional information, such as descriptive text, making the chart more informative and easier to interpret.
