When saving analysis files, it would be convenient if users could choose whether to maintain compatibility with different versions.
Currently, server administrators need to manage the enabling and disabling of compatibility, which can be burdensome if the compatibility feature needs to be provided only to users who request it.
When users can make the choice, it not only becomes more convenient for them but also has the potential to reduce the burden on server administrators.
Sorry for the late my response.
Spotfire Server administrators don't want to enable the preference "SaveCompatibilityVersion" because it increases DXP file sizes.
However, some users may share DXP files with other companies, so Spotifre Server administrators should enable the feature only for those users.
If users could select the version they want to save themselves, they would no longer need to request the activation of that preference from the Spotfire administrator. Consequently, server administrators would be spared the effort of enabling the feature each time a request is made and managing which users have the feature enabled.
Thank you for sharing this suggestion.
Could you share more details about the compatibility considerations you need to manage? For example, which older versions features are important for you to maintain compatibility with, and in what scenarios do server admin find themselves needing this option?
