From Spotfire 11.1, a new application preference is available to configure the default value of the "show popup notifications" check box (https://community.spotfire.com/articles/spotfire/whats-new-spotfirer-111/#wiki-header-9). As preferences are applied on a group (user) level, it will then apply to all analyses opened by that particular group of users.
This idea is to allow for more granular control - to allow for configuration of the notifications on an analysis level, which can be useful when you just want to e.g. hide a known/expected notification for all users of a specific analysis.
