Provide more shape options and ability to add custom shapes

I changed the status for this idea by mistake. We agree that this is a valuable feature and it fits into our product roadmap, but we do not yet know if and when we will address it.

Just had an email to say this will be implemented, can Tibco give any update on when this will be delivered?

Hi, I am looking for this option as well. can you update the current progress of this and when can this be implemented.

A subset of this idea was presented by a customer where the use case (part of a customized Spotfire web application) requires both shapeby and colorby in a visualization. Of note is that the same column(s) are always used for both shapeby and colorby in this vis. The subset idea would be to optionally overlay the color onto the shape in the visualization's legend whenever colorby and shapeby are configured with the same columns. Thanks, Thom

Is important to have other options to add more symbols to the palette. currently is very limited. there are many symbol files in True Type Font Files for example. it will be great if i can load my ttf file and select a character for a symbol

The option to extend with custom shapes would be great especially for the Map chart and Scatter plot.

The shape can help intermediately identify the situation on the plot so instead of a non-descriptive shape you can show little cars or planes on the Map chart. Imagine that in combination with Streaming.

Would suggest to add custom SVG for this.

Maybe even add an option to chose an image/file from a dynamic URL like scatter plot markers, e.g. http://www.domain.com/flags/{country_code}.png

If spot fire brings this option and functionality will make millions of SF users really happy.  Please Implement this.
