Password policies

We should add support for password policies (length, complexity, expiration etc) when using Spotfire DB for authentication. We should also set up reasonable default values for these parameters.

    Hi,

For production systems, Spotfire usually is integrated with an external identity management system (e.g. LDAP or AD server), which provides password policies functionality.

Spotfire Server 12.2 supports setting a minimum length and a maximum length for passwords stored in the Spotfire database.

For more details see the What's new in 12.2 page.

For a complete description of all new features, changes in functionality and how customers can upgrade/migrate to this version, see release notes and product documentation.

    Thanks

When will it be reflected in 12.0 LTS?

In addition, I believe that the organization's needs can be reflected normally only when the change cycle and complexity policy are applied.

      Hi,

Any Update on this,When can we expect this ?

With The General Data Protection Rules imposing this year this will be very beneficial .I know other authentication methods can be imposed or uses but those thing requires development time.

In Addition, a PW that complies with windows domain should not error when used on the web player.

Today, at least with SF 7.0 and less, a PW with certain characters will cause an error.

Password Management policies LDAP / and Non LDAP environments

Enforce complex password for web player login

In my project, I was planning to provide limited database access to users through Spotfire web player, but there is no option to enforce complex passwords. So, even if I assign complex password for users, they may change it to simpler ones, which ...
