Line graphs are great for a lot of our data as we look at measurement curves like IV characteristics. However basically only having “color by” available to differentiate measurement curves is limited. It would be great if a line style (dotted, dashed, dash-dot etc.) could be used for differentiation. Interestingly, it is possible to have dashed/dotted etc. lines via the “Lines” option. However, lines drawn from column values don’t fully integrate in the graphs. E.g. highlighting, marking, tooltips etc. do not work as normal.

Simon, I am reviewing this and found that there is a similar Idea named "Allow other lines styles (dotted/dashed) for default lines on a line plot"
I suggest I merge your ideaa with that idea which will give them a higher number of votes, unless you disagree?
