Conversion functions are absolutely necessary to combine and work with Calculated columns.
Some standard conversion functions like DateTime, Integer, String are not available in Spotfire while these are available in SAP HANA and also possible to use in Spotfire via SAP HANA custom query.
If the function is not listed in the list of available functions, you cannot use it when creating calculated column. You get red text, a red exclamation mark right to the editor input field and an error message "Could not find function: Integer". See attached screenshot.
