Currently, our team has found that using the Scheduled Updates is causing RAM issues for some of our bigger dashboards. Occasionally, some schedules will "hang" and cause our Spotfire servers to crash.
As a work-around we were looking to use Automation Services to do five tasks:
1) Open a dashboard, 2) change data tables from embedded to linked to source 3) refresh all data tables that are linked to source, 4) then reset all data tables to be embedded data and then 5) save the dashboard back to the library (overwrite if dashboard already exists).
Being able to use automation jobs would really help improve web player performance since all data would be embedded.
When you choose during the save analysis to library task the embedded options, it coum be nice to propose which table you would like to embed which table you would like to link to the source (as the data loading pop up which is displayed when you save your analysis)
Hi Chrisitan, I tried explaining what we are trying to achieve a little bit better. This may or may not be the right way to approach things. We don't know. Just throwing the ideas out there.
Doesn't the Replace Data Table task do this?
