Include scale on maps using CRS other than EPSG:3857

It is currently only possible to show a scale on a map if EPSG:3857-WGS 84/Pseudo-Mercator is selected as the coordinate reference systems. It would be very useful if the scale information could be displayed under other CRSs such as EPSG:27700 - OSGB as we can't always use EPSG:3857.
