Add zoom gradations to zooming on map charts

When using a map chart I often run into the problem where one zoom level is too far out but the next closest is too far in and it quite a large jump from the previous zoom level.  I would like the addition of more granular zoom levels.  Potentially this could be a user controlled feature where the zoom gradations could be set in the options menu.

The map zoom would be great with more layers/gradations. Currently if I look at the state of Michigan I have to zoom out to 50 mile scale to get both the UP and LP on the screen. If I zoom in just once I go to a 10 mile scale but this cuts off the some of the top counties in the LP. Can we get a 20, 30, 40 mile scale? I know Spotfire is better off as a dashboard but exporting maps to a PDF is the most frustrating thing ever with Spotfire.

Map zoom in smaller steps

The steps in map zoom are quite big when displaying the whole world. So in a dashboard for example, you end up with either a map that is too small for the frame or too big. Would be great with a "smoother" zoom / more steps... Attached are screen...
