To pass selected filter value dynamically from one dashboard to another dashboard is not available in Spotfire. If we have summary dashboard and detail dashboard as 2 separate dashboard links and detail dashboard is added as a link on the summary dashboard. The selected filter value is being passed to the summary dashboard and when clicked on the detail dashboard link, this filter value is not being passed. This should be basic functionality for any reporting tool.
In Spotfire you achieve this the easiest by using two pages in the same DXP file, not two DXP files.
Its needed when we want to link to separate dashboard/report. In all the industry leading tool its basic things we can't cramp everything in one dashboard or report.

Could you please explain why you would need 2 separate dashboards to show summary and details? Spotfire would normally do this in one single dashboard. If you need to use two screens you could just open a new window with the same Spotfire instance?
