"Show in user interface" but for Column visibility

Often a user will create a variety of intermediate calculated columns in order to accomplish a task. Those columns are "working" columns only and are never used for visualization, etc. It would be great for project clarity if you could toggle column visibility much like you can with tables, so that they do not show in axis selectors, filter panel, etc.

This would make projects clean, clear, and concise for all users, not just their original creators.

Ideally this functionality would be extended to ALL columns, in any table.

Depending on exactly how you want it to work but there is a limited hide functionality. For example if you create a calculated column based on another column and you delete the original column you will get information stating that another column is dependent on the new calculated column and you will be able to hide the original column. I guess it might not solve your case completely?
