When selecting columns for a property control, allow sorting variables and showing data type during selection. For instance if I wanted to select only numeric values from many columns, I have to leave the dialog window and check my column datatypes, then come back in repeatedly to assign columns. This is especially problematic when you have many columns.
For sorting, allow me to move columns up and down in the selected list easily, and also just simply sort alphabetically.
