Why it is useful?
Doing so makes it possible to identify important dashboards/pages from a dashboard.
End-to-end means capturing which tab/page is most used in a dashboard so that less used/unused pages can be deleted.
How many clicks, users are doing to get what they need.
Who would benefit from it?
Sponsors, Promoters and business managers, they can adequately plan what should be retained in a dashboard/s.
How should it work?
Extension/hotfix should provide all the details related to dashboard usage.
1) Which page is accessed most from a dashboard(Page Level Analytics)
2) Which visualization is more effective / more often people visit to get insights
3) How long they stay on particular page
etc
From my point of view logs are not sufficient because they don't detail what is hapening inside a dashbaord... Bt it is at least a step in teh right direction...
This would open the door to do more A/B testing!
Apart from Spotfire User Action Logs even more granular details are required to take crucial decisions.
