Native donut charts

Instead of pie charts and donut charts you should consider to use a bar chart. Different values are easier to compare that in a pie or donut chart (comparing different widths vs. different areas).

Hi all.

I found a turnaround that allows you to display a DONUT from a PIE chart, with a text area possible in the middle. Some Spotfire users need to display the Truth in a attractive way, and "my" donuts are much more sexy than the native pie chart, with an additional value/text centered. And it can also be used as a kind of gauge, that is also a visualization required by the business.

I attached a sample to this comments. Not sure this is the best place to share, but feel free to make it available at any convenient place !

Most of the users, in my last 10 years of Spotfire experience, are very interested in seeing the donut charts compared to pie and hence we are interested to have them in Spotfire ☺

Would be nice, but do not fully understand why it would be a huge improvement. Are you going to make better decisions when the pie changes to a donut?

Would be extremely useful to have a donut chart.

Yep we would like an option in a pie chart that allows you to specify the size of the 'donut' hole in the middle of a pie.  0 = full pie chart; 90% means donut is 10% of full pie chart width.  When you kick it into Donut Chart mode - we would also like to be able to insert a text area in the centre so that we can either put in there a value, and icon (up/down), etc.  Pretty sure every other upper quadrant BI platform has donuts, so they're noticeably abscent
