Ability to Control Web-Library Layout Via URL Switches

For example, when calling a Spotfire Library URL; it would be nice to be able to (at the very least) control which view-mode is presented - details, list, thumbnail.  So - the ability to pass this as a parameter on the URL such as ......viewmode=thumbnail would be pretty handy.
