When Stat Servers boot, they connect to an available domain controller for LDAP authentication. If there is a problem with the DC, the stat server does not try to connect to another DC - it fires off error messages. We have 7 DCs that provide access to our LDAP system, and if one goes down (it happens), the stat server does not gracefully connect to an available working one. It should. It needs to. It is useless until we have to restart it, where it will connect again to LDAP.
I do not consider this an enhancement - it's a flaw in the product which should be rectified.
