We have several cases where our scientists would like to have a combination of box plot and scatter plot, i.e. a plot with the features of the box plot but where all data points are displayed.
| Implemented in | 14.7 |
Spotfire 14.7 can now display all underlying data points as markers, overlaid directly on the statistical summary. Learn more about what's new.
Dear Tibco, can you please work on implementing this enhancement soon.
This would be greatly appreciated in the scientific community !
Please add this - us scientists like to display the underlying individual data points that are used to calculate the descriptive statistics. In many scientific conferences and abstract submissions this type of display is becoming mandatory. I would love to simply stay within spotfire to create. Much appreciated!
Here is an example:

An important extension is a Box-Dot-Line plot (see attached example, in which paired samples in the two boxes are linked by lines, showing the difference).
Or Box-Dot plot in which each dot is a data record that can be colored.
This is known as a beeswarm plot or column scatter plot, and it would be nice to have it in Spotfire.
