All Data Points in Box Plots

Spotfire analyticsSpotfire data science

Box plots in Spotfire can now display all underlying data points as markers, overlaid directly on the statistical summary. This is especially beneficial for domains such as manufaturing, life sciences, and quality engineerin where distributions matters as much as aggregates.

What you can do:

  • Enable the display of individual markers for all data points in a box plot.

  • Interactively select a data point to filter, drill down, or investigate anomalies (e.g., wafers, samples, lots).

  • Adjust marker size and jitter to maintain clarity, even with large datasets.

  • Use this feature across trellised views to compare detailed distributions across groups.

Displaying raw data alongside statistical summaries is important to scientific research, regulatory submissions, and process analytics. It improves trust, reveals the true shape of distributions, and enables immediate detection of outliers or multimodal behavior without needing separate charts or external tools.

Vertical Line & Combination Charts

Built-in data function diagnostic

Reliability and transparency of built-in data functions is enhanced by providing clearer, more actionable notifications about parameters inputs and processing results. Whether you're transforming coordinate systems, cleaning geometric data, or smoothing time series, Spotfire now surfaces issues early so you can trust your results and avoid silent errors.

Spotfire now automatically detects and communicates common data issues directly as notifications:

  • Geometry validation: Get warnings when geometry or coordinate-based data contains invalid, empty, or malformed values before and after transformation.

  • CRS transformation clarity: Receive an informational message when the source coordinate reference system (CRS) equals target CRS, helping you confirm settings and avoid unnecessary processing.

  • Smarter time-series smoothing: Spotfire alerts you if smoothing level has been auto-adjusted due to insufficient rows, ensuring full transparency in how the algorithm behaves with small datasets.

Diagnostic notifications help users detect data issues earlier in the workflow, understand how Spotfire interprets their parameters, build trust in analytic results, and reduce debugging time for common data preparation and transformation tasks.

Spotfire Enterprise

Spotfire Enterprise 14.7 strengthens governance and operational simplicity with centralized mods re-signing to ensure consistent trust across environments.

Mods Re-Signing

Spotfire enterprise

Administrators can now use the command re-sign-mod to easily re-sign mods—whether stored in the library or as local .mod files—using a designated account, ensuring consistent trust across all environments.

This capability simplifies moving mods between environments such as development, testing, and production, without requiring complex certificate setups for cross-server trust configurations. It also centralizes signature management, eliminating the overhead of handling individual developer signatures that may become outdated, disabled, or removed.

Web-Based JDBC Driver Management

Spotfire enterprise

Spotfire Enterprise now allows Information Services administrators to manage JDBC drivers directly from the web administration interface - without requiring access to the Spotfire Server.

Admins can deploy JDBC driver SPK packages to specific deployment areas and update drivers to the latest version without using command lines or the server configuration tool. This streamlined workflow reduces operational overhead and improves security by limiting the number of users who require direct server access.
