Need to have SparkSQL data connector updated to support Apache v2.2 via Databricks

Databricks is the leading SparkSQL vendor. We are partnering with them for many of our big data analytic needs.

 

Spotfire is currently supporting SparkSQL up to v2.0.2, which is ~ 2 years old. We really need a refresh here, to 2.1 or better 2.2. Spotfire has to keep pace here - it's falling behind. Tableau already supports 2.2. 

 

Spotfire needs to support a http path option for accessing Spark clusters, not just the IP address option. Databricks has deprecated the IP path option; Spotfire needs to support http access.

    With Spotfire 7.11 Apache Spark SQL 2.2 is now supported.
