Need ability to restrict the "Find" option available in the Spotfire 10.3 version to specific pages of a report.

Hi, With Spotfire 10.3 version, we have got a new "find" option to perform various searches in the spotfire report UI. However this find option is currently applicable to all the pages of a spotfire report and we are looking for options to restrict this functionality to certain pages and certain data tables (for Data sensitivity issues).

Correct.  The challenge has been that many legacy reporting people have been using since Spotfire 5 leveraged a common "row level" security python script as a means to hide data for consumers while still supporting report caching.  Find potentially allows users to get around that.

Harold, just to make sure I communicated the workaround clearly: the license disables the Find feature for the user group you select. It is disabled for *all* files for the selected user group.

Thumbs up on the workaround.  That's what we're doing now.   Noted that the limitation is that it's now applied to all user group of the file.

As a workaround, it is possible to disable the Find feature for a user group by using the Administration manager and deselecting the license 'Find'. Note that it disables Find for this user group in all files.

I think so.  If people are carrying reports and recommendations found around the web on the concept of report level script filtering, FIND is an option that can negate that (which allows users to skip running the script prior to the report.

Hi Arun, just so I understand the context: Is it consumer(web player) users that you want to stop from finding specific pages?
