Color Cross Table Cells/Values Based on Horizontal or Vertical Axis Values

We need the ability to color the cells/values in a cross table based on the values for the horizontal and/or vertical axis values.

Ideally, you'd also be able to create an expression to define the coloring here, to highlight specific values in the cross table that meet a certain criteria.

A couple examples:

  1. Color by Order Status:

    1. Data = Sales values with month/year on the horizontal axis and order status on the vertical axis.

    2. Coloring = Color the cell background based on the order status.

  2. Color by Order Status (depending on date):

    1. Data = Sales values with month/year on the horizontal axis and order status on the vertical axis.

    2. Coloring = Color the cell background based on the order status, highlighting in red any orders where order status is not complete and the month/year is less than the current datetime.

Starting with Spotfire 11.2, you can now color cross table cells using another column or custom expression than the expression used for calculating the actual values that are displayed.

You can learn more about this in the What's New in Spotfire 11.2 page here: https://community.tibco.com/wiki/whats-new-tibco-spotfirer-112#toc-14
