Previously, this required manually box-selecting large numbers of points, which could be error-prone and difficult to repeat consistently.
In Spotfire 14.8, you can now mark all data points in a trellis panel with a single click:
Click a trellis panel header to instantly mark all data points contained within that panel.
Use standard modifier keys (Ctrl/Cmd/Shift) to mark multiple panels at once.
As usual, marking immediately propagates to all linked visualizations.
The interaction works consistently across all visualization types that support trellising.
This capability significantly accelerates analysis workflows where users compare many dense panels side by side, such as wafer maps in semiconductor manufacturing, but also batch analysis, unit comparison, regional breakdowns, and other high-density trellised views across industries.
When working with trellised visualizations, users often need to review data group by group, for example examining all wafers in a single lot, all units in a batch, or all items belonging to the same category. Previously, trellis panels from different groups could appear mixed together in a single grid, forcing users to visually separate related panels.
In Spotfire 14.8, trellised panels can be paged by a grouping column:
A new page option is available in the Trellis-by layout.
Assign a column (such as Lot ID, batch, product, or category) to Pages to display only panels from one group per page.
Use familiar paging controls to move through groups.
Existing trellis configurations continue to work unchanged unless paging is explicitly enabled.
This capability is especially valuable for wafer-centric semiconductor workflows, where engineers routinely review complete lots and expect all wafers from the same lot to appear together. By paging trellis panels by lot, engineers can review lots sequentially, reduce visual clutter, and avoid misinterpretation during yield, defect, and process investigations.
More broadly, page-based trellis benefits any analysis where users review dense panel grids one logical group at a time such as batch analysis, unit comparison, product families, or segmented operational data across industries.

A new reference layer type - Statistics layer - allows users to display calculated statistics directly on visualizations as overlays. These measures can represent any user-defined expression (such as count, mean, standard deviation, yield %, or custom KPIs) and can be placed either inline with the plotted data or at a user-defined location within the visualization. Statistics layers are fully styleable and context-aware, adapting to categories, colors, trellis panels, and data subsets just like other reference elements.
What you can do:
Add statistical values or expressions directly into visualizations as reference labels.
Dynamically calculate and display metrics per category, segment, or trellis panel.
Customize position, alignment, label size, padding, and formatting for presentation or analytical use.
Source values from the visualization's data or from related tables, including static or dynamic expressions.
By embedding metrics directly within the visualization, statistical layers make analytics applications self-explanatory, eliminating the need for separate summary tables or text areas. While individual shapes are not meaningful in isolation, comparing multiple samples using consistent scales enables rapid identification of water types and mineralization levels. Wide polygon shapes typically indicate mineralized or saline water, while narrow shapes represent fresher water.

Administrators now have more precise control over data export capabilities in the Spotfire web client, addressing enterprise governance and data-access requirements. Two new licensed features are introduced to allow administrators to explicitly control how end users can export data:
Export data from data table: When disabled, users can no longer export data directly from underlying data tables. The Export Data dialog remains available for exporting data from visualizations, preserving common consumption workflows while preventing access to non-visible data.
Export data to library: When disabled, the File > Export > Data to library option is removed entirely. Exporting data to the Spotfire Library now requires both the existing Save to library feature and this new export-specific permission.
These controls enable customers to enforce consumption-only usage models in the web client, ensuring that users can export only the data explicitly intended to be shared, while maintaining compatibility with existing analyses and workflows.

Customers running .NET-based extensions may need to recompile and validate their extensions against .NET 10. For more information about extension compatibility and validation, see the Spotfire Developer Documentation.
Support for .NET 10 will be added to Spotfire 14.6 LTS in a future service pack.
