How to separate service account from dbo privilege

*Goal:*
Customer would like to find out how to separate service account from dbo privilege. customer has a question related to database accounts, so he wants to find out if the account used to create original Spotfire SQL database can be changed from "dbo" to "datawriter" without impacting subsequent Spotfire operation or not. Their Spotfire uses Windows Authentication. Can he change Spotfire SQL database user credential from "dbo" to "datawriter".

Spotfire user is using same service account to connect all of the data sources database back-end creating security risks. They would like to find out what is the best practice in implementing it.

I checked with engineering on this and they suggested me log an enhancement as per TSS-14116.
