Any update on this case? This idea is lmost 5 years old. o_O
This is a great enhancement request especially for all our customers in the Manufacturing area. This is really a core and (apparently !) simple small feature which needs to be there to distinguish different phases, campaigns, etc. of a manufacturing process even if the X-Axis is categorical (e.g. using batch IDs on an X-axis).
