Enhance Bookmark Administration to see what is actually set in a bookmark

I have noticed that filters/ranges set in Bookmarks disappear if the underlying data set does not have any value in that set range. Thus when you apply the bookmark and use "status:mod" to see what makes up the bookmarks, you are falsely lead into thinking whole filters don't exist as part of a bookmark.

Equally, when inheriting others development work, there is currently no way to tell what makes up and what values are set in a bookmark with 100% certainty. There could always be filters missing and not showing up to the point you have no idea what goes into each bookmark.

With an application this size, it is surprising that the "status:mod" is currently the only way to even attempt to see what makes up a bookmark. This issue of filters disappearing and not knowing what is in each bookmark has caused Production issues that are very hard to fix mainly because unless the developer who created the bookmark still works here, no one knows what it needs to be fixed too. Also this then affects the ability to update a bookmark as well, if certain filters disappear and I add new filters and update the bookmark, Spotfire then assumes I no longer want the other filters that disappeared as part of the bookmark

This would help for us when we update our software and overwrite a report that has bookmarks...many cases the bookmark is lost or no longer working because of the change.  However knowing what was set in the bookmark would allow us to re-apply the bookmarks quickly (although it would be better if the bookmark just kept working :)).

I would also like to have the ability to export bookmarks for backup purposes.

For workflows which require bookmarks, these types of improvements would be extremely valuable/required:

    • Visibility into what is captured in bookmarks
    • Management of what is captured in bookmarks
