In the new Waterfall vis you can show categories by color but with multiple categories the waterfall becomes very small and hard to read. It also makes the data set very wide, so over a large category axis the waterfall vis looses its allure. Attached is an image with an idea to allow for stacked bars within each waterfall category axis value.
