Add summary rows to table or visualization

In Spotfire, it is currently possible to add additional columns with calculated columns.  I need to be able to do something similar with rows.  I am working with financial data -- revenue, expenses, etc.  Most of these reports are done in cross tables.  I need to be able to insert subtotal lines for specific line items.  Subtotals in cross tables aren't sophisticated enough and neither is binning by values.

For example, I have the following line items...

1. Oil Rev

2. Gas Rev

3. NGL Rev

4. Net Gain Loss on Divestiture

5. Other Income

I need two additional lines that are

1. total oil, gas and NGL prod (sum of 1 - 3)

2. Total Operating revenues and other income (sum 1-5)

Binning will work to get the first one, but not the second one.  The only way I know how to do this in Spotfire is to create tons of tiny tables, aggregate the tiny tables, then use insert rows to combine the original tiny tables to the aggregated tables for a final version but this is incredibly time consuming and breaks if anything changes.
