Visual feedback of filters in hierarchy is either an empty box (= excluded) or a check mark (= included), however it doesn't give any information about the members of the hierarchy which would be very useful in case a sub-group in hierarchy is closed and it contains checked and non-checked items too.
It's already solved in many other tools, e.g. in Excel (see attached picture), where groups may have a third state indicating that only part of their children are included.
