Hello,
Spotfire is used to more and more reporting (thumbs up to TIBCO for this great product), and the number of data sources is just increasing all the time. With different environments, the operations that have to be completed to change the passwords of the Data Sources just becomes a huge administrative task.
Could TIBCO implement the possibility to change the passwords (my main wish) and other settings of the Data Sources via a command line?
Thank you for your consideration.
Kind regards.
This was implemented in 14.0. The command line instructions are captured here: https://docs.tibco.com/pub/spotfire_server/14.0.5/doc/html/TIB_sfire_server_tsas_admin_help/server/topics/update-datasource.html
We could also use this option. We have a standard dashboard that we deploy for our customers and each time we deploy it we need to change the datasource configuration in place. This is also a problem because our policies require rotation of the DB passwords and the only way it seems to make changes to a datasource password is via Spotfire Analyst.
Certainly a long overdue feature. Not sure why there wasn't an idea before, we have certainly requested this before. We have even gone to great lengths to develop a "hack" to solve this problem. It might be useful to you too, I have documented it on the Spotfire Community Wiki:

It will be a good option to have :)
