When we upgrade to Spotfire, we are often in the position of adding to existing dashboards that were created in prior versions with the newly released version. It's best to maintain color schemes between them, and it would be cool if we were able to load in the array of choices available from a prior version. For example, in the attached screenshot, the graphs were created in a prior version. If I want to maintain that color scheme with the same shades of colors, I have to look up the color reference numbers. I can use the eyedrop picker, but if there isn't an example on the same screen, then I have nothing to pick from.

Olga, just to make sure I get it... it it like:
You have a DXP file created in an older version of Spotfire.
Then you upgrade to a new version of Spotfire.
Then you open the DXP file mentioned in step 1. The colors stay the same(?)
The you want to add a new visualization in the DXP file. It gets the colors that are set as default from the new Spotfire version.
At this point you can select to use the color scheme from another visualization, such as one created in the previous version (see screenshot).
Did I get this right? Is it not solving your issue?
Hi Niklas,
I am referring to have access to the pop-out color-chooser. Sometimes, you want to have access to the same color scheme for new coloring patterns that don't yet exist. I currently use the picking tool to match the colors, but that is cumbersome. It would be nice to just be able to choose the entire color palette as a default to maintain consistency within a visualization.
Hi Olga and thanks for contributing. Would it not work if you export the color scheme to the library using your old version of Spotfire and then apply the color scheme in the new versions? It should at least save you the work of looking up the color codes?
