This idea has been sitting here for 4 years while VDI options have proliferated, it seems ridiculous that your team has not responded to this request at this point.
Agreed. Having an user-based installation is great if you're a home user on a home PC, but a nightmare if you're the IT Department of an organization trying to control what the user installs on their work machine and dealing with version upgrades and/or PCs that are shared by more than one person. SCCM and user-profile installers do not go together well!
