Pain point: In order to view ALL the data sources of each “published” Spotfire report in our library, I have to manually open each .dxp, click the data panel source view, and manually document each data source on a spreadsheet. In TDV, you can see the breakdown for infolinks but if a report contains anything else like a spreadsheet, SBDF, copied clipboard, etc., there’s no way to gain that visibility unless you manually open each .dxp (took ~1 day to complete for ~20 reports)
Helpful for:
I'd like to see an overview of these datasources in the data canvas, too.
The Application Profiler can sometimes be a useful tool to gather such information. See e.g. https://support.tibco.com/s/article/How-to-get-list-of-Table-Columns-and-Datasource-information-for-an-analysis-file
For specific questions, you would then analyze the output from AP, for example you may be looking for analysis files that use database XYZ which is about to be migrated to ABC, and so on. Depending on the question, there will still be manual analysis involved, but the initial information gathering step may be simplified by the AP.
