The present PDF printed file is not presentable. Usage is not simple. The page area is not used properly. Pixel perfect printing is missing. User should be able to select print Options like print 'all columns on same page', 'all data on same page' like in MS-Excel. The printout must be readable. The printed border lines must be darker. The Report must have provision for Title, Description, username, page number/total number of pages and printing filter settings. A sample printout is attached. Provide ability to do one click Export (placing a button in the text area with printing parameters for a Report, e.g. Portrait, landscape etc). The printing options must be stored as a part of the Analysis so that the user does not have to enter all the parameters when the printing / Export to pdf is repeated. These should work in Analyst and Webplayer.

Spotfire 7.10 improves both the graphics of the PDF export as well as its usability.
Spotfire 7.12 resolves this.

Yes, I am having trouble printing a PDF that has all the customization that Spotfire displays. I am just repeating what Spotfire support emailed me Friday. Here is what they said in response to my question about that. If what they told me is incorrect, please let me know.

I heard back from the escalation team who informed me that there is not currently a way for us to pick up the 'Active Visualization' setting when exporting to PDF, so that will be an enhancement request. The rest of the export looked good to me, so please upgrade to 7.11 LTS to improve your Spotfire workflow.

Patrick, not sure I understand what you mean with custom visualization settings in this context? If you mean customizing the header font, font size, color, borders around visuals etc with the "Edit custom theme" editor, for sure that is reflected in the new and improved PDF export?
Spotfire support told me 7.11 improves printing, but there is still a major flaw to me. There is no way to print all the custom visualization settings into a PDF. They now have high resolution print to PDF, but if you make a custom visualization (ex: you add color chart titles, border lines around charts, etc.) none of that prints to a PDF. For presentation purposes I was a print to PDF to show me the exact same image as a screenshot would which Spotfire will not do.
I hope they update this soon because if you can't share meaningful analysis what good has it done you?
7.10 improves export on the client. Automation services, which is used to create all of our reports still doesn't create better PDF exports.
