Refresh data tables in Web Player

How can we refresh data tables in Web Player without the need of closing the template and reopen it in the web player?

Note: If you refresh the web page while the temp[late is opened, it doesn't refresh data tables.

We need a button that gives the ability to refresh any data table in the opened analysis in Web Player? We already have options of replacing the data table and other data table operations buttons, It will be very helpful having such an enhancement in Web player.

We always have continuous data loading and exporting reports and data analyzing, while opening the template, in the meantime, if we have a new data loaded, I can't see it the analysis directly, I need to close the template and reopen it again. There is no way to refresh data tables in Web Player.

As a workaround, to make a button in a text area to refresh a specific or multiple data tables.

Best Regards,

Ghannam

Starting with Spotfire 10.4 released in June 2019 you can reload linked data in Spotfire Consumer and linked or stored data in Spotfire Business Author.

It is still not possible to reload a prompted data connection via a scrip on a button on the web. Menu action is possible but not button to trigger the action. Am I wrong?

    Hi Niklas,

Yes, we need to have the ability to refresh tables all in one hit, along with having also the ability to refresh tables individually and to choose which table to refresh.

I don't think that the author needs to be able to restrict reload data tables in any template. Basically, this option is not available in Spotfire, and we always need data tables in templates to be synced with the database or the data sources as long as they are linked to the source.

    Thanks a lot.

Hello Anas, thank you for contributing. You mentioned that there is a workaround to put a button in a text area that triggers refresh of one or more data tables, which can be done today. So, is your request to have a reload button that lets a Consumer user reload all data tables? Or should there be a way for the user to select which data table  to reload? In your view does the author need to be able to restrict reload of some data tables?
