If data is not linearly distributed, it would be very useful to be able to select a slider that enables one to move across the entire range of data (e.g. if there is a higher density of data on the order of 1e2 units and a lower density at 1e10 units). Ideally, an arbitrary formula could be entered to create the best step sizes for navigating across and selecting the data or at least a standard set of options would be available (e.g. log scale, etc.)
Ian, many thanks for contributing. Just to make sure I get it did you think of this for range filters? Or any other use case?
