Need Filter Option for Transformations

I would like to have an option to create a filter as part of a transformation step.  This would address several issues:

1. The ability to filter out data from a file-based data source so its not even available within Spotfire. Regular filters can be reset and such but in some cases I don't even want data in the file available to spotfire.

2. When unpivoting data from any source, I would like to remove some rows totally for the same reasons. An example could be where there was a series of columns called Month1, Month2, Month3, ... and finally a Total column.  I would like to simply unpivot and then remove the entire column.

3. Given our position around data prep and data wrangling, most similar tools do have the capability to filter out data as a processing step.  The normal filtering in spotfire is more around analysis but removing data in a data prep stage is also important.

Implemented in 10.1

The row filter data transformation enables to remove rows based on what is selected in filters. If you know that the values you have selected in a filter are the only values of interest going forward, you can remove all other corresponding values (rows) with one click. This automatically creates a new 'Filter rows' data transformation. The data transformation is automatically documented in the data canvas, and can be edited as any other data transformation type.

I Kyle, has the row filter data transformation addressed any of the needs you describe? Let me know if we can do more in this area. Thanks, Thomas
