In this case, all analyst need to URL acces to information_designer to create "join" or column element but generally they don't in charge of manage connection (always manage by IT)...
We need more option to manage information_designer rules.

Hi Stephane, Thanks for contributing. I think this idea makes sense (if I understand it correctly). You want to allow users to create Information Model elements (columns, filters, joins, information links etc) based on data sources configurations managed by IT, and that it is important for security reasons that the non-IT users do not have access to the data source connection properties (connection urls, credentials etc)? Please let me know if this is an accurate description of your needs or if I'm missing something.
Note that this use case is possible to achieve today using Spotfire Advanced Data Services (TIBCO Data Virtualization), where you can have business users creating data views on top of data sources, data views and security rules managed by IT personas.
