When a scatterplot has many overlapping points, it can be difficult to distinguish them and determine how many there are. The way that this is best addressed in most other plotting packages is:
Reduce the transparency of the color filling the points
Increase the thickness of the edge of the points, while maintaining a different transparency than the fill of the points, and make it black
Spotfire cannot currently do this, please build this feature
