more robust behavior when changing data tables for a visualization

I have two unpivoted tables with 3 columns each.

  • Account Name, Date, Cost
  • Service Name,  Date, Cost

I set up a stacked bar chart for Accounts, completely configure it. I then duplicate it and change the data table to Services. Spotfire gives me the worst "default" visualization ever - like we're back at v3.3 again. The only difference here is that the name of the first column is slightly different. All data types are the same. Yet, Spotfire will only do the right thing when all column names are the same. Sigh.

Spotfire 10.3 needs to do a much better job when responding to a data table change. Really, the current solution is one step above infantile. I mean you have Recommended visualizations! You don't even use them here.

thanks,

JP
